Gosport Regeneration Action Forum (GRAF)
The Gosport Regeneration Action Forum (GRAF) works towards achieving various sections of the Sustainable Community Strategy's Vision:
Gosport’s local economy will be thriving and diverse. There will be a good choice of jobs on the peninsula and people will have the opportunity to work close to home. The economy will build on its strengths in the tourism and marine sectors whist maximising its high-tech manufacturing base. Business start-ups will have increased and released Ministry of Defence land will provide opportunity for maximising business development and growth.
Gosport’s environment will be clean, well maintained and attractive. Nature conservation sites will be protected and biodiversity encouraged, in particular along the coast and within the harbour. The attractive character of the coast, parks and open spaces will be protected.
The community will be taking positive action to reduce its use of natural resources and impact on climate change. Local people will be helping to reduce their carbon footprint by being more energy efficient, saving water, buying local produce, continuing to recycle, and composting garden and food waste.
A more detailed description of the role of GRAF can be found in the Partnership Agreement.
