Community Cohesion
Community Cohesion means a shared sense of belonging to the local community which respects differences, values diversity and enables different groups of people to get on well together.
The Gosport Partnership Board and thematic sub-groups have been developing a local strategy for strengthening community cohesion which reflects the aspirations and needs of Borough residents.
‘A Community for Everyone’ is the Partnership’s draft cohesion strategy out for consultation now until 5 March 2010. Comments on it are invited from individuals and groups and will be considered in the development of the final strategy.
Your views are important. Please use the feedback form below to let us know your comments on the draft strategy.
The Partnership has also established a Community Cohesion Fund to help develop new local projects or initiatives or enhance existing ones which meet the funding criteria and contribute to community cohesion. Please read the Guidance Notes and the funding criteria before completing an application form.
Applications must be submitted to the Partnership Co-ordinator (jhamilton@fareham.gov.uk) by 26 February 2010 for consideration at the Partnership Board’s March 2010 meeting.
